My name is on the work. Quincy House is the house it comes from.
The company behind the keynotes, the newsletter, the playbooks, and the app.
The name
Quincy is a New England name. Say it like we do: Quin-zee.
My family has been in New England since the Mayflower. When I finally sat down and really read the tree, I realized I wasn't looking at a genealogy. I was looking at the job I already have.
Think about what that world actually was. Nobody knew anything. News moved at the speed of a horse. A rumor could empty a town and a bad winter could end one, and the people who crossed the ocean knew the ship might not make it and got on anyway. They lived braced. Every family did. And still they kept planning for a future they had no evidence was coming. Braced for the worst, building for better. That is the most familiar feeling in the world to me. It's how I live right now, and it's how every leader I work with lives, whether they'd say it that way or not.
The people in my tree kept showing up in the middle of all that.
William Bradford, governor of Plymouth Colony, my grandfather many greats over, wrote the colony's history himself. Plainly. The failures too. He knew the story would get told, so he told it first and told it straight. I've built an entire career on that one move.
Rev. John Robinson was pastor to the Pilgrims. He prepared his congregation for the crossing and never made it himself. That's the job. I get leaders ready for storms I won't be sailing into with them.
Fear Robinson, his granddaughter, lived on Cape Cod. The women in my tree are named for the virtues: Fear, Mercy, Grace. Parents named their daughters for the things they wanted close at hand, and fear made the list on purpose. Fear meant you were paying attention. Centuries later, that's half of what I teach: under every backlash is fear, and mercy is how you answer it. The women in this tree were named for my job description.
Hezekiah Manning was a Connecticut farmer with a seat on his town's Committee of Correspondence in 1774. When everything was catching fire and nobody knew what was true, the committees carried the real story from town to town. You didn't apply for that seat. Your neighbors handed it to you because they trusted your word. He also audited the town's books and settled the accounts fairly with its soldiers. Honest messages and honest books, same man. The family business, before it had a website.
And the tree didn't just argue. It fought. Captains and soldiers, the Revolution and the wars after, including one who marched off and never came home.
The Adams family sits on a collateral branch of the same tree. Their branch did the boldest thing in the American playbook: wrote the grievances down, signed their names, and called it a Declaration. People don't rise up because they're angry. They rise up because something is unfair and nobody in charge will say so. That founded a country. It also explains every member revolt and comment-section pile-on I've ever worked. My branch didn't sign it. My branch raised me to study it.
So no, I didn't inherit a famous name. I inherited the instincts. Watch closely. Tell the truth early. Be the one whose word holds up when everything is moving fast and nobody knows what's coming. Those instincts have a name now: Indestructible PR®, the framework I'm known for and the one every piece of my work is built on. People ask where I get the nerve to say hard things to powerful people. It's inherited.
Quincy House holds all of it now: the keynotes, The PR Breakdown, the playbooks, the app, all running on Indestructible PR®. The name on the door is new. The instructions are four hundred years old.
